Department of Biosystem Engineering

General Information

With the decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 19.01.2011 and numbered 606, it was deemed appropriate to open the Department of Biosystem Engineering in our Faculty. Biosystems engineering is an engineering discipline where engineering science and design is integrated into biology, environmental and agricultural sciences. Working topics of Biosystems Engineering; automation in agriculture and emerging technologies, precision farming techniques, energy and machinery, mechanization practices in crop and animal production, post-harvest mechanization practices, agricultural structures, development of land and water resources, development of rural areas. His areas of expertise are land and water resources, agricultural energy systems, agricultural machinery systems and agricultural structures under four main headings.
The goal of the Biosystem Engineering Department; It is the development of agricultural techniques and machinery that provide an increase in yield with an environmentally friendly sustainable understanding of agriculture without harming the natural structure. In addition, the development of appropriate agricultural techniques that do not harm the environment, both locally and internationally, by contributing to universal science by producing the knowledge required by the agricultural sector in the fields of agricultural mechanization and the use of energy in agriculture.
